about

Hume hockey club was formally established in 2017. After a number, Hockey Victoria initiatives were run in the Craigieburn area, using the name Craigieburn Hockey club. The programs have been based around junior participation and have seen more than 130 different young people experience hockey over the past 4 years.

As a sport, hockey is in the unique position of being able to offer full family participation, with teams for men, women, boys and girls and open to all age groups from Hookin2Hockey (an introduction to hockey program for young children) through to open age and masters players.

In 2017 Hume Hockey club will launch its first ever men’s team into the Hockey Victoria competition while continuing to provide opportunities for juniors and women. In term 2, 2017, Hume hockey club (in partnership with Hockey Victoria) will run a two-week road show, where 2,100 primary school aged student will be visited and provided with the opportunity to join up to the Hume Hockey Club Hookin2Hockey program.

Our club has a strong family focus that encourages participation at all levels of endeavor whether it be playing hockey, organising activities or enjoying each other's company. To further develop members, the club provides guidance and tuition within umpiring and coaching roles. These opportunities build leadership, responsibility, trust and commitment within our ranks. We are proud of our history in producing representative players, coaches, umpires and administrators.
