For 2018, The Hume Hockey Club have a Juniors team in the under 14's Mixed competition with Hockey Victoria. Training is on Thursday evenings and games are held on Friday nights.

Any child under 14 is welcome to play, no matter their skill level - this is a great opportunity to learn about the game and have fun with like minded kids. We are always looking for new team members, but the earlier the better! The Juniors start training in Janurary and the competition starts in late April.

All participants will need to register with Hockey Victoria through their website and pay their Insurance Fees; these range from $37.50 to $50, depending on age and are valid until the 31st of December 2018.

Training Juniors / Hookin2Hockey

For Children that are a little too young to play in the Under 14's team, or for those who are just looking to learn the skills of the game, we offer the option to train (only) on Thursday nights. Children are split in to smaller groups based on their age and abilities to make sure everyone has a good time.

Hookin2Hockey is scheduled to run during School Terms and runs based on demand. It is a program designed by Hockey Victoria and aimed at kids from 5 to 10 years old. Once children have completed this program, they can progress 'up' to train with the other children. Hookin2Hockey is not a pre-requisite to train with the other children, but a great way to be introduced to the game of Hockey.

All coaches running the above programs hold a Victorian Government approved, Working/Volunteering with Children card.

What to bring:

Bring your child along with some safety gear; we recommend a mouth guard and shin pads. Good sneakers are required - hockey shoes are ideal but not necessary early on. Please no soccer/footy boots with studs as these will damage the brand-new turf. We can provide Hockey Sticks until your child is a at a point where they'd like to purchase/use their own.

Junior playing Fees

Junior fees are $250 per member and then $125 for any aditional junior members
